Too many 'ands'
Miss out some of the ands and thens or change them. You could use when, but or so, or choose your own word.
Don’t start a sentence with and or then.
the two boys were walking home along the busy street and Lee was carrying his football and sometimes he bounced it on the pavement then suddenly the ball bounced out on to the road and Lee ran after it and he didn’t see the car coming towards him then David heard a bang and he saw Lee lying on the road then David ran into the nearest shop and asked the lady to ‘phone for an ambulance then he went to help his friend and he saw a tall man bending over Lee and he shouted, ”Don’t move him!”

Improving Similes
If you want to say a kid is very noisy you can say:
He is as noisy as an elephant.
That is an ok simile, but we can improve it by thinking of something even noisier than an elephant.
Well, what is noisier than an elephant? A whole herd of elephants. And so a better simile might be:
He is as noisy as a herd of elephants.
If you want to say something is old you could say:It's as old as the pharaoh.
Some pharaohs are 5000 years old after all. But, how can we improve that? By thinking of someone even older than the pharaoh like the pharaoh's grandmother. So we can improve this simile like this:
It's as old as the pharaoh's grandmother.
Try to improve the following similes.
It's as smelly as socks.
It's as dangerous as a shark.
It's as cold as a milkshake.

Language - Metaphors
Metaphors are a way to compare to by saying that one thing is another thing. For example, we say somebody is a fool. In the past in Europe, a fool was a person who entertained the king or queen by doing silly things. The fool was a kind of clown. He often did crazy or stupid things to make people laugh. So when we call somebody a fool we really mean that he or she is doing something silly or stupid. We don’t really mean that they are somebody who entertains the king or queen. We are using a metaphor.
What do we mean when we say these things:
When we say someone is a pig we really mean that
___________________________________________________________________________
When we call someone an angel we really mean that
___________________________________________________________________________
If we say someone is a giant we really mean that
___________________________________________________________________________
When we call a man an ogre or a woman a witch we really mean
___________________________________________________________________________
When somebody plays cards and we call them a shark, we really mean that
___________________________________________________________________________
If we say that somebody is a volcano ready to explode, we really mean that
___________________________________________________________________________
When we say somebody is bright we mean that
